A Co-Curated Exhibition by Christopher Harrison and Jhyle Rinker
What ignites you? What transformation has your fire sparked?
Fired!, an exhibition exploring the many meanings and manifestations of “firing,” opens on August 1st! Join us at CAFAC for the opening reception from 5-7pm. Whether through the literal process—ceramics, welding, blacksmithing, metal casting, any artwork made with heat, spark or flame—or the metaphorical fire that fuels action, change, or resilience, this show features work that burns with purpose.
We’ve found pieces that speak to the heat of transformation: How something is made, unmade, or reborn through fire—internal or external. This takes the form of personal reckoning, political stances, creative awakenings, and reactions/reflections to the world around us.
This exhibit features works by Alonso Sierralta, Amy Buchanan, Ava DelCastillo, Clare Friar, Dana Sexton, Grover Hogan, Jake Woodward, Joey Dokken, Judith Yourman, Laura Hanson, Michele A. Lackey, Rebecca Bowers, Ron Brown, Steve Ozone, and Timi Bliss.
What keeps your fire burning?
This show closes during our next Open (Hot)House which will be Wednesday, September, 17th, 6:30-9pm
