CAFAC has always been a volunteer-driven and community-led organization. We’ve seen unprecedented growth over the past 12 months in enrollment scholarship awards, and we continue to upgrade our space, tools, and equipment. Here are some recent highlights:
So far in 2025, we’ve awarded away more than $16,000 in scholarships! That’s on pace to set a new record. 63% of awards have gone to BIPOC learners. CAFAC scholarships don’t require proof of income, which can often be a barrier to access.
This year, we’ve had more than 1,360 enrollments in our public classes, breaking our record set in 2024! On top of that, we’ve provided classes through new partnerships with Pillsbury House + Theatre and the Minneapolis VA.
Since launching an artist residency program in 2023, we’ve hosted nine residents, supporting artists by providing the time, space, and resources to expand their skills and create new work in blacksmithing, enamel, neon, glass and more!
We're deeply grateful for the many learners whose class fees sustain a large part of our operations, but they don't cover all of our costs. Fuelerships provide CAFAC with a regular contributed income source. sign up for a monthly contribution today!
One-time campaign: Help replace CAFAC’s air compressor!
If you’re not able to commit to a recurring donation right now, CAFAC is currently raising funds to cover the costs of replacing our aging air compressor! The new unit was installed this fall and gives us compressed air capacity throughout the shop. But we’re still working towards closing a funding gap of about $9,000. Any contribution you’re able to make will help, from $5 to $500.
