Comments, questions, and concerns about Failure? Good! For this months Open HeARTh we have local artist, educator, and oracle Grover Hogan joining us as they present and facilitate a mini version of The Star Party: A Workshop on Failure. There will be an overhead projector, drawing materials, and discussions about big feelings, personal histories, and what we can and can't control. (It's a lot more light hearted than it sounds!) Join us this Friday, July 17th from 5-7pm. This workshop made possible by the Minneapolis Cultural Districts Arts Fund.

Grover Hogan (they/them) is a queer, Black and Mexican interdisciplinary artist from Houston, TX, currently based in Minneapolis, MN. They received their BFA from Minneapolis College of Art and Design in Fine Arts Studio, Drawing and Painting, with a minor in Teaching Art.

Grover’s work combines pedagogy, esoteric trial and error, and personal narrative to bridge the gap between the individual and our collective American Shadow Self. They are currently a studio artist at Public Functionary and a 2025/26 Jerome Fellow. Find Grover’s art and writing at groverhogan.com
